"Factory Girls" is an ongoing collage series examining how work, family, and place move through generations. Growing up in blue-collar Detroit, industrial labor wasn't just employment—it was the foundation of security and identity for everyone I knew. My grandfathers and uncles built cars with their hands, creating symbols of freedom and joy that rolled off assembly lines. Through collage, I reinterpret their craft with a distinct gaze: cutting, arranging, layering with the same precision they brought to the factory floor. This work is my acknowledgment of their artistry—the kind that's rarely called art but shapes everything.
